Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about starting therapy, insurance, and what to expect during our time together.
What is the therapy process like?
What should I expect in my first session?
The Heights Counseling believes that therapy should be a collaborative journey between the provider and client. Therapy looks different for each individual, however, sessions are scheduled in one hour increments and content will reflect your individualized treatment plan.
Your first session, or intake, is a time for us to get to know one another. We will discuss important parts of your history, current challenges, goals for therapy, and expectations you have for your therapy journey. Together, we will design an individualized treatment plan to assist you with achieving your goals.
Do you accept insurance or private pay?
Are telehealth appointments available?
For questions about insurance, private pay rate, and sliding scale fees please see the "billing and fees" tab.
Yes, we offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth services for residents across the state. This allows you to receive professional support from the comfort and privacy of your home. Please see the telehealth tab for mor information.
What is your cancellation policy?
Do you serve children, teens, and adults?
We require at least 48 hours notice for session cancellation. This allows us to offer your open appointment date and time to other clients in need. If you are more than 20 minutes late for your session or no-show your session, you will be charged your full session fee.
We provide specialized therapeutic services for all stages of life. Whether you are seeking help for your child or yourself, we are ready to help you move forward with your healing journey.
